Course Overview

This intensive 5-day programme equips participants with practical expertise in upstream gas and LNG project economics focused on Mozambique, Tanzania, and adjacent basins. Delegates will learn to structure cashflows, model fiscal regimes, price gas through LNG and domestic routes, and quantify risk and uncertainty to support robust investment decisions.

By connecting subsurface resources to market value, the course covers LNG chain economics (liquefaction, shipping, regas), sales agreements, and netback pricing (JKM/TTF/Brent-linked). It also addresses East Africa–specific risks such as security, domestic market obligations, local content, and infrastructure constraints.

  • Quantify uncertainty with sensitivities, decision trees, and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Evaluate bankability — project financing, offtake risk, credit and currency exposure.
  • Assess regional risks — security (Cabo Delgado), ESG, and local content obligations.
  • Develop investment recommendations with negotiation levers for fiscal and commercial terms.
